Luther Glyndon Morris, 83, of Charlottesville passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at the Martha Jefferson Hospital. Born on October 2, 1933, in White Post, Va., he was the son of the late Henry Luther Morris and Lottie Anna Morris.He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette Morris. Luther was a Shenandoah High School graduate in the class of 1952 and graduated from the University of Virginia in the class of 1958. He was a life member of MOAA,USAA,NRA, and the Rivanna Rifle & Pistol Club. Mr Morris was a retired Captain with the U.S. Air Force and served as an elder at First Presbyterian Church in Charlottesville. Survivors includetwo sons, Michael Jeffrey Morris and wife, April of Lake Monticello, and Glyndon Morris of Cincinnati, Ohio; twogranddaughters, Victoria Faith Morris, and Lindsay Taylor; twograndsons, Winchester Robinson, Jr., and Nicholas (Nicky) Robinson, in addition to a host of beloved nieces and nephews; anda brother-in-law, Frank Rogers and wife, Dee of Silver City, N.Mex.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m.Thursday, January 26, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church in Charlottesville with the Rev Dr. David G. Forney officiating. Interment will follow in the church memorial garden. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to 1st Presbyterian Church, 500 Park St, Charlottesville, VA 22902.
