General Range Rules Applicable to ALL Ranges

Range Hours of Operation

All Outdoor Firearm Ranges

Mon. – Sat. = 8:00 am – Sunset

Sunday = 1:30 pm – Sunset

The Board must approve any exceptions.


Indoor Firearm Range


Mon – Sat = 8:00 am – 10:00 pm

Sunday = 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm


Archery Ranges


Mon – Sun = Sunrise to Sunset


General Safety Rules

SAFETY IS EVERYBODY’S RESPONSIBILITY!

Always keep guns pointed in a safe direction.

Keep guns unloaded until ready to use.

Never handle firearms while anyone is downrange.

Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.

Everyone (shooters and spectators) must wear eye & ear protection.

Apply eye & ear protection BEFORE entering the range area.

All Ranges – All Times

Members must wear their RRPC name tags while at the range.

Guests Members are responsible for ensuring their guests follow the Range Rules.  Up to four guests per member are permitted.  Guests must shoot on the same range as the member.

Please clean up after yourself.  Do not leave garbage or targets on the range, and please pick up your brass.

No explosive or glass targets!

No tracer, incendiary, or explosive ammunition!

PLINKING RANGE

Firearms

Handguns, rifles, shotguns.

Full-Auto firearms permitted, when approved by Class 3 Committee.  Binary triggers, FRT triggers, and similar devices designed to increase rate of fire are permitted.

Type of Shooting

All standard shooting positions are allowed.

Drawing from a holster is permitted, but no small-of-the-back or shoulder holsters are allowed.

Firing Line & Target Location

All shooters must use the same firing line.

Firearms on the bench must be made safe (action open and unloaded) when anyone is forward of the bench.

If firing a Full-Auto firearm from the shoulder, you must be forward of the red line. 

If firing a firearm with a bump stock, binary trigger, FRT trigger, or similar device designed to increase rate of fire, you must be forward of the red line.

All shots must hit the lower half of the berm.

All targets must be placed directly at the base or on the lower half of the earthen berm.  Targets also may be hung from the cable using the wires provided.

Steel Targets  Caliber appropriate, downward deflecting, steel targets may be used.  These must be placed directly at the base of the earthen berm.

Other Targets All other targets must be made of plastic, wood, or clay.  No hard targets such as bowling pins that could cause bullets to ricochet are allowed. No glass targets, computer hardware or other appliances.

Plinking Range Interaction

Plinking, Pistol, and Steel ranges must cease fire before anyone goes down range on the 200/300 Yard Rifle Range. A cease fire will be in effect while the light and buzzer are on.
