General Range Rules Applicable to ALL Ranges

Range Hours of Operation

All Outdoor Firearm Ranges

Mon. – Sat. = 8:00 am – Sunset

Sunday = 1:30 pm – Sunset

The Board must approve any exceptions.


Indoor Firearm Range


Mon – Sat = 8:00 am – 10:00 pm

Sunday = 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm


Archery Ranges


Mon – Sun = Sunrise to Sunset


General Safety Rules

SAFETY IS EVERYBODY’S RESPONSIBILITY!

Always keep guns pointed in a safe direction.

Keep guns unloaded until ready to use.

Never handle firearms while anyone is downrange.

Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.

Everyone (shooters and spectators) must wear eye & ear protection.

Apply eye & ear protection BEFORE entering the range area.

All Ranges – All Times

Members must wear their RRPC name tags while at the range.

Guests Members are responsible for ensuring their guests follow the Range Rules.  Up to four guests per member are permitted.  Guests must shoot on the same range as the member.

Please clean up after yourself.  Do not leave garbage or targets on the range, and please pick up your brass.

No explosive or glass targets!

No tracer, incendiary, or explosive ammunition!

STEEL TARGET RANGE

Firearms and Ammunition

No centerfire cartridges designed to be used in rifles, and no ammunition with a velocity greater than 2000 feet per second.

No shotguns or pistols using shotgun ammo. 

No Full-Auto firearms, binary triggers, FRT triggers, similar devices designed to increase rate of fire.

No armor-piercing ammo. No bullets attracted to a magnet. No Bi-Metal projectiles.  If it causes sparks when you hit the target, DO NOT USE THAT AMMO!

ANY DAMAGE to the steel targets due to the use of prohibited ammunition is the member’s responsibility.

Type of Shooting

Only standing shooting position is allowed.

Drawing from a holster is permitted, but no small-of-the-back or shoulder holsters are allowed.

Firing Line & Target Location

Only the club-supplied steel targets are permitted.  DO NOT USE YOUR OWN TARGETS.

All shooters must use the same firing line. 

Firing must be done from within the wooden  boxes in front of their respective targets.  No cross-shooting from one shooting box to a different target.

DO NOT TOUCH firearms when shooters are downrange of your position (between you and the berm). 

Firearms on the bench must be made safe (action open and unloaded) when anyone is forward of the bench.

The minimum distance to steel is 10 yards (See marked distance on wall.) Do not shoot from within the Red Wall Zone.

Steel Range Interaction

Steel target, Plinking, and Pistol ranges must cease fire before anyone goes down range on the 200/300 Yard Rifle Range. 

A cease fire will be in effect while the light and pistol range buzzer are on.
